Mission at the Polytechnic University of Barcelona (UPC)

From March 18 to 22, Olivier DALVERNY, Hamid Reza EBRAHIMI MOTLAGH (post-doc) and Hélène WELEMANE visited the Polytechnic University of Barcelona (UPC) as part of the SLIDES (SimuLatIon Dynamique de l'Endommagement Sismique) collaborative project. This collaboration between the Mechanics-Materials-Processes Department of the Production Engineering Laboratory and the Department of Materials Resistance and Structural Engineering of the UPC (Pr. Ramon Jose GONZALEZ DRIGO, Dr. Jorge Arturo AVILA HARO, Dr. Rodrigo Esteban ALVA BANUELOS), enabled the two teams to exchange ideas during seminars and a visit to the Applied Geophysics Laboratory of the Barcelona School of Civil Engineering (ETSECCPB-UPC).

The meeting also provided an opportunity to define a concrete action plan for the future of the SLIDES project, with clear objectives and a defined timetable. These exchanges strengthened the links between the research teams, fostering close and effective collaboration in the common quest for innovative solutions to better understand and prevent seismic damage.
