THE PRODUCTION ENGINEERING RESEARCH LABORATORY

LABORATOIRE GENIE DE PRODUCTION

Alongside teaching, transfer and industrial enhancement , more than a hundred people at ENIT are involved in multidisciplinary research in its Production Engineering Laboratory ( Laboratoire Génie de Production or LGP).

The Laboratory carries out coordinated mechanical and industrial engineering research, in the fields of automation, materials, mechanics and production.  It is made up of three research teams:

            Computer-assisted mechanical design (CMAO)

            Interfaces and functional materials (IMF)

Automated production (PA) incorporating automation and production components

The Laboratory’s objective, from a general approach geared towards multi-scale integrated design, is to provide answers to two major scientific problems:

  • Managing the interaction of complex phenomena involved in product design and their behaviour in use.
  • System autonomy considered on different levels of the decision-making processes which have an effect on this system.

The aim is to contribute to the implementation of integrated design through the development of methods, tools and prototypes by means of synergistic schemes and industrial applications.
