Health

WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE SICK?

If you want a medical advise through telephone, you can dial 3966. This is the first thing to do before even going anywhere.

Do not forget that, in case of an emergency, the european emergency number is 112.

YOU WANT TO SEE A DOCTOR

If you want to consult a doctor or go to the hospital, you will have to use your (final or provisional) social security number (or Carte Vitale if you have it) or European Health Insurance Card.

If you cannot get an appointment with a doctor, you can go to La Maison Médicale de Tarbes  in the Polyclinique of l'Ormeau from 8 pm to midnight and on Saturdays afternoon and Sundays.

Finally, if you have no other choice go to the emergency. The nearest service to ENIT is located at the Centre Hospitalier de Bigorre.

HEALTH INSURANCE IN FRANCE

HEALTH INSURANCE FOR STUDENTS FROM THE EUROPEAN UNION

Health coverage is mandatory in France. However, the European Union citizens only require to have the European Health Insurance Card.

HEALTH INSURANCE FOR STUDENTS FROM OUTSIDE EUROPEAN UNION

For people coming from outside the European Union, the subscription to the CPAM (French health care) is mandatory and this is why a certified birth certificate (translated by a sworn translator) is required when you come to France.
